Prayer Shawl Group

The Prayer Shawl group comes together to crochet and/or knit prayer shawls (and other items) to be given to individuals from our community (or their loved ones when requested) as a way of wrapping them in love and peace in times of trouble or celebration.  The group benefits by deepening our sense of community with each other (and learning a new skill, if crocheting is new) and the recipients benefit with a tangible symbol that they are loved and part of the greater Oakland Center for Spiritual Living community. We meet weekly at the Center, Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m.

“This shawl is to wrap you up when you’re cold, when you’re hurting, and to remind you that you are not alone. This shawl was made to bring comfort, so you know you are loved”
