Educational Scholarships:

OCSL offers educational scholarships to support high school graduates and youth up to age 25 as they begin or continue college or career training.  Scholarship funds are raised annually through individual donations and special events.  Applicants are evaluated on their school performance, community service, and involvement with the OCSL community.  Scholarship applications are now available and are due around June 30th. For information please contact Garnet McQuitty or call 707-422-7969.

NOW AVAILABLE: A scholarship qualifications list is now available for 2013 awards.  Copies are located in the Sanctuary foyer or a PDF version is available at the Youth & Family site or one may be requested by contacting Garnet McQuitty.

  • 2013 Asilomar Rereat, July 28-August 3: Join Centers for Spiritual Living for a family spiritual vacation that will not only be relaxing but also a life-enriching retreat.  The theme for this year is A World that Works for Everyone.  BeCause We Can!   • Spiritual Weight Loss Support Group:

Looking for a spiritual support group to develop a new relatioship with food.  Your body, yourself, and with God so excess weight is no longer an issue?  Join us for discussions, writing, meditations, and a supportive environment where we will do healing work together using guidelines from Marianne Williamson's book, A Course in Weight Loss: 21 Spiritual Lessons for Surrendering Your Weight Forever. Meets starting April 6, and finishes July 27, 2013.  To register, leave a message at 510.547.1979 ext. 353, or email ocslwellness@gmail.com.

By either sponsoring one Teen for $400.00 or pledging an amount for their Bowl-a-Thon.  Each summer CSL Teens from all over the country meet together to learn powerful Science of Mind Principles.  We have a goal to raise $3,000-Let's make it happen!   • Animal Ministry:

The Animal Ministry is receiving donations for the Oakland Animal Shelter, contact Bonnie Carpenter for more information.

This wonderful opportunity of sacred service is open to anyone who has taken the Announcer Training (offered 3-4 times/year), has some familiarity with the OCSL community, AND who feels Spirit's calling to do so.  We invite and encourage people from our teen ministry, young adults from the Launching Pad, seasoned or recent members to the community, Practitioners and ministry leads to participate!  

Once you’ve taken the Announcer Training, you can sign up using the sign up genius link. When you sign up, you are committing to announce at both the 9am and 11am Sunday services, and be there a half hour before each service. Please follow the written announcements while providing your personal style and making it fun. Remember that the OCSL community supports you and thanks you for this service.

You will receive an e-mail copy of the announcements before Sunday, be sure to keep your e-mail updated with the Administrative Office of the OCSL at jbruce@oaklandcsl.org so that you can receive the announcement.
