ministries: Season For Nonviolence

|
The Season For Nonviolence, January 30 – April 4, is a national 64-day educational, media and grassroots campaign dedicated to demonstrating that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform and empower our lives and our communities.
Inspired by the 53rd and 33rd memorial anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this international event honors their vision for an empowered, nonviolent world.
April 4, 2008 marked both the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and
the official end of the Season For Nonviolence.
This Season has been a vehicle for us to …
… transform lifelong habits of mind
… stay present and creative in the face of adversity
… respond in ways that unify rather than polarize
… recognize and surrender cleverly camouflaged weaponry
… choose forgiveness in favor of nursing resentments
… practice nonviolence as first thought, not afterthought.
You are invited to embark on a PERPETUAL SEASON …
It would be an honor for you to join us. .
We can become the change we want to see in the world …
… one thought at a time
… one conversation at a time
… one deed at a time.
Wishing you peace on the inside.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can
change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has."
~ Margaret Mead
