Our teens are AMAZING! We have a strong core of young adults who show up in big ways in our community.
We recognize that teen years can be . . . complicated. If you have a teen that is interested in becoming more involved here at the Oakland Center for Spiritual Living, we invite you to contact our youth and family director Bonnie Sita. We would be happy to make arrangements for one of our teens to meet with and give your teen a tour and answer any questions that they might have.
We watch as our young adults grow and mature into conscious, mindful and loving members of the community, and want to offer to you whatever support we can to contribute to your young adult as they begin to ask the hard questions and find their way in the world.
YOUTH & FAMILY EVENTS
Part of our vision here at the Oakland Center for Spiritual Living is a vital and thriving youth and family ministry. We are family here and are really leaning into how to better serve families and create a culture of family, in spiritual community. Part of this vision includes regular events and outings that allow for a family experience of Spirit out in the world, in nature, at cultural events and in service to our community.
If this vision speaks to you and you would like to become involved in the cultivation and co-creation process of an expanding youth and family ministry, please contact Bonnie Sita, Y&FM director; Sabrina Shane, Board member; or Rev. Jeff.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
Donations for the Nursery
The Nursery will joyously accept your donation of legos and duplo blocks. Our little ones thank you!
Please contact Bonnie Sita, RScP via e-mail or call (510) 866-5415.
Jr. Church Parent Volunteers Needed
So many wonderful things are happening in our Sunday Morning Jr. Church classrooms! We encourage every parent to volunteer once a month in our Youth program so you can share this part of your child’s life and be part of this wonderful ministry. It is most helpful to have an extra pair of hands (and heart) in the classroom. To volunteer, please contact Bonnie Sita, RScP via e-mail or call (510) 866-5415.
Youth Program Teachers
Our Youth program is growing, and we are looking to add to our youth church teaching team. If this is you, you will receive training before you start, and serve 1-2 Sundays a month. A background check will be required. If you have love to share with our youngest ones, please contact Bonnie Sita, RScP via firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at (510) 866-5415.

The Scholarship Committee is the place where abundance is manifested in the form of Scholarships for our youth. The Scholarship Committee seeks to identify students who possess the academic and leadership skills essential for success in higher education and support them in achieving their goals. The scholarships are available to graduating seniors and continuing college and vocational school students. Please contact Garnet or Deborah for additional information.
